Happy Opening Day! We've had a couple of gorgeous days to remind us it's spring,
and tonight was the first game of the baseball season! A perfect day!

At my parents' house this afternoon, Max decided these hangers were to be our hats.
I asked "How do I look?" and he thought for a moment and then answered: "Hangery."

Oh, Oreos. Our love goes back as long as I can remember, and I will never give you up.
Never ever.

A rainy morning, and we were looking for an adventure, so we got our
boots and raincoats on and puddle-stomped our way to the donut shop!

Max needed new shoes a few weeks ago, and as soon as he saw these, he said "Hey!
They're just like Daddy's and I love Daddy!" so he had to have the shoes... love him!

I don't think there's much in this world that makes an almost-three-year-old
as happy as a new balloon to play with!

He's extra safe this morning, in his shark hat AND dinosaur raincoat!
(And I do NOT know what's going on with that hand! LOL)

Max "reading" his new animal book we just finished making!
If you'd like to know more about it, check out this post on my blog!

We celebrated my dad's birthday today with an afternoon of beer brewing at
my sister's house... now to wait a month for the tasting party!

My mom's Balancing Man sculpture, made by my Grampy. It's been around
in our house for as long as I can remember, and I love it!

My niece, Faith, might only be 4.5 years old, but she's got the hamming for the camera skills
of someone three times her age! She is her mother's daughter!

The day threatened rain, but that couldn't keep us away from
one of our favorite Sunday adventures, the Zoo!

Most times, being a mom is super fun. This evening was not one of those times. :)

My handsome boy, fresh from the hairstylist, in his first "spiky" haircut.
He looks so grown up! *sniffle*

My mom had her hip replaced on Monday, and we're hoping she'll be discharged tomorrow.
After several years of pain, once she gets past the surgical recovery, she'll have
a new lease on life where she can actually WALK AROUND pain-free!
We can't wait!

I've joined a weekly writing challenge, The Red Dress Club,
and started working on my first story today at lunch. A working lunch,
just like I had so many of when I was in school!

66/365 Macro Monday

Someday, Max will have my neatly typed blog to remember my thoughts.
More important than that, however, will be the little notes and everyday
writing in my own hand.

We set aside a few of the toys he got for Christmas, to dole them out over the few
months between Christmas and his birthday. "Helping" me clean last night,
he found the stash. Welcome to the family, Elmo!

Coming out the bathroom after getting ready this morning, and I found this

You mean someone will actually *pay* me for the stuff I write?
For the words I string together? Awesome!
(Blogher syndicated a post of mine in January, and my check, the first time
I've gotten actual cash money for something I wrote, arrived yesterday! It's not a lot,
but it's certainly more than zero!)

The big clue that I'm on deadline at work? The accumulation of coffee and Diet Coke
cups on my desk! A girl needs her refreshment (and caffeine!)
